Employees with over one year's service are entitled to 12 days of sick leave on full pay each year. Employees with less than one year are entitled to a portion of those twelve days proportionate to the amount of time that they have worked. Employees can carry forward their sick leave from year to year up to a maximum of 45 days. Accumulated sick leave of over 45 days must be reimbursed by the employer at the employee's normal pay rate at the end of the year).

Employers must have valid reasons for dismissing an employee and must also give them an opportunity to present their case against the dismissal. If an employee resigns, the employer must accept their resignation within 15 days (or it will be considered automatically accepted).
If an employee has completed service of at least one year, the notice period is normally 30 days. No notice is required in cases of misconduct.
Severance payments of one month's salary are common.
The maximum probationary period is six months.
