The United Arab Emirates (UAE) government has recently made a landmark announcement regarding remote work. The government’s HR department has announced that employees can now work remotely from public libraries.

Speaking virtually at the ‘Remote’ conference in Dubai, the Director-General of Dubai Government Human Resources Department, Abdulla bin Zayed Al Falasi, told those gathered at the Museum of the Future that this new HR initiative — developed with Dubai Culture and Digital Dubai — would be launched from March 16^th. 

With this announcement, the UAE government is taking the remote work concept a step further by providing government employees with the opportunity to work from public libraries.
